Angostura Orange Bitters (200 ml)
฿1,289
Angostura's orange bitters trace their lineage to the same Port of Spain distillery that has produced the house's aromatic bitters since 1824, though the orange expression is a distinctly modern revival targeting the resurgent craft cocktail movement. The base spirit is produced in Trinidad, where the distillery draws on Caribbean-grown botanicals alongside imported citrus material — principally bitter orange peel (Citrus aurantium), the variety prized for its sharper, more resinous rind character over sweet orange. The botanical package is macerated rather than distilled, preserving the full-spectrum oils and bitter glycosides that give the product its characteristic dry, pithy backbone. At 28% ABV, the concentration is calibrated to deliver intensity in single-dash quantities without overwhelming dilution in stirred or shaken formats. What separates this expression from most category peers is the deliberate restraint on sweetness: where many orange bitters lean toward candied or marmalade registers, Angostura's version holds a drier, more savoury profile anchored by clove and cardamom co-macerates. The 200 ml format is the standard bartender-service size, sealed with the house's signature oversized label.
