Amaro Lucano
Sambuca Lucano (700 ml)
฿1,269
Amaro Lucano originates from Pisticci, a hilltop town in Basilicata's Ionian coastal region, where the producer has operated since 1821. The terroir—limestone-rich soils and Mediterranean maritime influence—shapes the botanical palette sourced from the surrounding Campania and Basilicata highlands.
The spirit is built on a neutral grain base infused with 13 botanicals including star anise, fennel, citrus peel, and alpine herbs. Maceration occurs in temperature-controlled vessels before distillation; the resulting spirit is aged briefly in neutral oak to marry flavors before bottling at 32% ABV. The anise character dominates the nose and palate—characteristic of southern Italian amari—balanced by pronounced herbal bitterness and candied citrus notes that emerge on the finish.
Lucano distinguishes itself through its restrained sweetness and forward anise profile, positioning it closer to French pastis in aromatic intensity than to sweeter central Italian amari. The 700 ml format reflects its traditional role as a post-meal digestif, served neat or with ice water to release the botanical complexity.
