Galliano Vanilla originates from Piedmont in northern Italy, where the house has produced herbal liqueurs since 1821. The base spirit is infused with over 30 botanicals including anise, fennel, mint, and juniper, then sweetened with Madagascar vanilla bean and warming spices. The liqueur is bottled at 35% ABV with a characteristic golden hue derived from its botanical composition and natural colorants. Unlike the original Galliano L'Autentico (which emphasizes anise prominence), this expression foregrounds vanilla warmth while retaining the herbal backbone—a deliberate shift in aromatic hierarchy that makes it more approachable in mixed drinks and dessert applications. The sweetness is balanced by subtle herbal bitterness from the underlying botanical matrix, preventing cloying character.
