The Bols family began distilling on the outskirts of Amsterdam in 1575, sourcing exotic botanicals through the Dutch East India Company — a supply chain that gave their liqueur recipes a specificity still encoded in the house's 17th-century archives. Apricot Brandy sits within that 30-plus-flavour range, built on the house's documented method: stone-fruit tinctures and/or esprits blended with neutral alcohol, fruit juice, and 'Eau Divine' — a 20% ABV sugar solution — then left to marry until the Master Distiller at the Lucas Bols Distillery in Amsterdam approves the batch. Blending and bottling are completed at Avandis C.V. in Zoetermeer, the jointly owned finishing facility. The house philosophy, Semper Idem (Always the Same), means this expression is calibrated for absolute batch-to-batch consistency rather than vintage variation. What distinguishes Bols Apricot Brandy within the fruit-liqueur category is its institutional lineage: the same Amsterdam address and archival recipe logic that produced the world's first commercially documented liqueur range underpins every bottle.
