Siam Lanna Gin (700 ml)
฿1,700
Siam Lanna Gin is produced in Chiang Mai, the cultural and agricultural heartland of Northern Thailand, where the cooler highland climate — elevations above 300 metres, distinct dry and wet seasons — allows aromatic herbs and florals to develop concentrated essential oils rarely found in lowland-grown botanicals.
The distillery draws its botanical identity directly from the Lanna agricultural tradition: lemongrass, butterfly pea flower, and locally foraged highland herbs form the core bill, replacing the juniper-dominant template of London Dry with a Southeast Asian botanical architecture. This is a deliberate departure — the producers position Siam Lanna not as a European gin made in Thailand, but as a Thai spirit that happens to use gin's distillation framework.
The gin is produced via pot-still distillation with botanicals sourced from Northern Thai farms, bottled at a standard craft ABV. Butterfly pea flower contributes the gin's visually distinctive blue-violet hue, which shifts to pink-purple on contact with acidic mixers — a built-in chromatic signature no botanical substitution can replicate.
At ฿1,700, this expression occupies the accessible end of Thai craft spirits, making it one of the most approachable entry points into the Chiang Mai distilling scene that has emerged since the mid-2010s.
