Con Arancia (700 ml)
฿฿
Malfy was founded in 2016 at the Torino distillery in Moncalieri, Piedmont, with a deliberate mandate to build each expression around a single Italian botanical origin — for Con Arancia, that anchor is IGP-certified Arancia Rossa di Sicilia, the blood orange grown on the volcanic basalt soils of the Catania plain at the foot of Mt. Etna. The mineral-rich, iron-heavy lava substrate concentrates the anthocyanin pigments and tart citrus oils that distinguish Sicilian blood orange from any other variety.
Production uses cold-pressing of fresh blood orange peel to preserve volatile aromatic compounds that heat would destroy, then redistillation in copper pot stills alongside Italian juniper and a supporting botanical bill. The resulting distillate is bottled at 41% ABV. Unlike most flavoured gins that rely on post-distillation maceration or added citrus essence, Con Arancia integrates the orange character through distillation, producing a drier, more structurally coherent profile. The volcanic terroir of Etna's citrus groves is the single feature that no non-Sicilian blood orange gin can replicate — the combination of basalt minerality and diurnal temperature swings produces a peel oil with distinctive bitter-tart depth.
