Romeo Y Julieta No.2 (10 Sticks per Box) (Aluminum Tube)
฿12,000
When Sir Winston Churchill visited the Havana factory in 1946 and declared his preference for the Julieta No. 2 — 7 inches at 47 ring gauge — Romeo y Julieta did not merely gain a famous customer; it handed every cigar brand on earth a new standard vitola designation. The Churchill format as a universal category begins here.
The tobacco originates exclusively from Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río — a Habanos Protected Appellation of Origin — where red colorado clay soils, warm humidity, and consistent trade winds produce leaves with a precise equilibrium of combustibility, aroma, and measured strength. Sun-grown leaves supply filler and binder; shade-grown Criollo leaf from the same zone provides the finer-textured wrapper.
Post-harvest leaves undergo air-curing in ventilated barns for 25–50 days, followed by bulk fermentation in pilones at 40–50°C for 15–90 days to strip ammonia and develop aromatic complexity. Each cigar is constructed by a torcedor using the totalmente a mano, tripa larga method — long-filler, totally handmade — then sealed in a cedar-lined aluminum tube that continues passive humidification in transit.
What distinguishes this format within the Romeo y Julieta range is the ring gauge-to-length ratio of the Churchill: the 47-gauge draw slows combustion relative to the tobacco column, extending the aromatic development of cedar, almond, and citrus across a significantly longer smoke than any petit corona format allows. This box of 10 represents standard-line production — not Reserva or Gran Reserva — delivering the house's medium-bodied signature without the minimum 3-year post-roll aging of the tiered releases.
