Montecristo Petit Edmundo (10 Sticks per Box)
฿18,100
When Alonso Menéndez launched Montecristo in 1935, he built the brand on a single conviction: that Vuelta Abajo leaf, rolled with sufficient skill, needed no blending from other Cuban zones. The Petit Edmundo — a 52-ring, 110mm robusto corto — is that conviction compressed into a shorter, wider format that concentrates the house profile without extending the smoking time.
All tobacco originates from Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río, where red clay (colorado) soils and a tropical microclimate moderated by Atlantic breezes produce filler, binder, and wrapper of exceptional mineral density. The wide 52-ring gauge forces the torcedor to pack a higher ratio of ligero-heavy filler into the blend, driving body and combustion heat upward relative to the slimmer No. 4.
Totalmente a Mano construction uses the entubado or accordion-fold long-filler technique; leaves undergo natural fermentation in pilones before blending. The colorado wrapper is triple-capped and presented uncut — no filtration, no machine intervention. Standard production tobacco is aged approximately 1–2 years pre-rolling.
What distinguishes the Petit Edmundo within the core Montecristo line is its ring gauge: at 52, it is the widest vitola in the standard portfolio, producing a draw resistance and smoke volume that pushes the house's characteristic cedar-cocoa-earth profile into decidedly fuller territory than the No. 2 or No. 4.
Best smoked after a minimum of 6–12 months of additional humidor rest; the wide gauge rewards patience as the blend integrates and the wrapper sweetness emerges fully.
