Murmuri
฿฿
SaleMas Doix has farmed the steep, terraced slopes of Poboleda in the Priorat DOQ since the late 19th century, but the Murmuri white represents the estate's deliberate pivot toward expressing what llicorella — the region's fractured black slate and mica schist — does to white varieties rather than the Garnacha Negra that made the estate's name. Llicorella forces vine roots deep into fissured rock, limiting water retention and concentrating mineral salts in the berry, which translates directly into the wine's saline, stony character. The blend centres on Grenache Blanc and Macabeo grown at elevations where the diurnal temperature swing preserves natural acidity through the long, sun-intense Priorat summer. Fermentation proceeds with native yeasts, and the wine sees aging on fine lees to build texture without masking the schist-driven minerality that defines the appellation's white wines. What sets Murmuri apart within Priorat whites is its positioning as an entry point into the DOQ's terroir story at a price that allows the llicorella signature to speak without the weight of heavy oak intervention. Drink now through 3–4 years from vintage, when the lees-derived creaminess and slate minerality are in closest dialogue.
