−20%Fratelli Ponte's roots in San Damiano d'Asti — the family's Frazione Gorzano cellar established by Giuseppe Ponte in 1968, positioned between Asti and Alba on the chalky soils that define this corridor of Piedmont — give the Fiore Di Loto its structural backbone. Chalky, calcium-rich terrain in the Asti province drains freely, stressing the Moscato Bianco vine into producing intensely aromatic, low-yield fruit with pronounced floral concentration and natural acidity that prevents the sweetness from becoming cloying.
Vinification follows the Asti method: a single, interrupted fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, halted before dryness to retain both residual sugar and the CO₂ produced during fermentation — no secondary refermentation, no dosage. The result sits at the low-alcohol end of the DOCG spectrum, preserving the grape's primary peach-blossom and apricot character without oxidative interference. 100% Moscato Bianco, no blending component.
What distinguishes this expression within the Moscato d'Asti DOCG is Fratelli Ponte's deliberate house philosophy of varietal authenticity over commercial sweetness amplification — the same restraint applied to their Barbera and Arneis is carried through to this frizzante format. Drink young, within 12–18 months of vintage, to capture the aromatic volatility at its peak.
