Chardonnay
฿฿
La Campagne's Chardonnay originates in Minervois, a subregion of Languedoc-Roussillon where limestone-rich soils and Mediterranean sun create conditions for crisp, mineral-inflected whites. The vineyard sits at moderate elevation across the region's characteristic garrigue-covered slopes, where Mistral winds moderate ripeness and preserve acidity.
This expression is vinified without oak aging, allowing the limestone terroir and varietal character to dominate. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves aromatic freshness and the wine's natural acidity—a deliberate choice that positions it as a food-friendly, site-expressive Chardonnay rather than a butter-and-oak styled interpretation.
The special feature here is restraint: in a region historically known for riper, fuller styles, La Campagne's unoaked approach emphasizes the mineral spine and green-fruit tension that limestone terroirs naturally produce. This is Chardonnay built for the table, not for oak-driven complexity.
Drink current release; optimal window 1–3 years from vintage.
