Fontanabianca Barbaresco Bordini Single Vineyard
฿2,600
Fontanabianca is a traditional family estate located in the village of Neive, within the heart of the Barbaresco DOCG. The winery’s history began in 1969 when Franco Pola bottled the first vintage of Barbaresco Bordini, transforming the property from a general farm into a dedicated wine estate. Today, the third generation, led by winemaker Matteo Pola alongside his father Aldo, continues this legacy. The estate takes its name from a local natural spring, or white fountain, and remains deeply tied to the hills of Neive. Their winemaking philosophy is centered on the belief that a quality wine must authentically mirror its territory, focusing on precision, elegance, and the preservation of the grape's natural character through a balance of tradition and modern technology.
The Bordini single vineyard is a prized "sorì," a dialectal term for a site with ideal southern exposure that receives the first morning sunlight. Situated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, the vineyard features a unique terroir of calcareous clay and limestone soils with a small percentage of sand influenced by the nearby Tanaro River. This specific composition, combined with 50- to 60-year-old vines, provides the wine with its signature structure, finesse, and aromatic complexity. Following traditional vinification, the wine is aged for 12 to 15 months in large oak barrels and vats, followed by several months of bottle aging, resulting in a Barbaresco that balances power with a crystalline, mineral-driven elegance typical of the Neive region.
