Little Beauty's Black Edition represents a deliberate departure from Marlborough's archetypal pale, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard sits on the region's signature free-draining gravelly soils, with north-facing aspect maximizing ripeness during the austral growing season.

Production technique centers on extended skin contact—a maceration period uncommon for white wine in this region—before cool fermentation in stainless steel. This contact time extracts deeper phenolic compounds and darker fruit character, pushing the wine toward stone fruit and tropical density rather than the green-herb profile typical of standard Marlborough expressions.

The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that retains the region's signature acidity and minerality but gains textural weight and riper fruit expression. Drinking window: current release through 3–4 years.
