Bruichladdich Black Art Whisky (700 ml)
฿29,999
Black Art exists as the single expression in Bruichladdich's portfolio where Head Distiller Adam Hannett discloses nothing — no cask breakdown, no age statement, no recipe. In a house built on radical transparency (barley variety, farm, field, and harvest year printed on every other bottle), this deliberate silence is itself the statement. Matured entirely on Islay in the distillery's flat, brick-built dunnage warehouses on the western shore of Loch Indaal, where Atlantic-maritime air driven by the Gulf Stream and near-constant high humidity slow the spirit's development to a pace impossible to replicate inland. The Rhinns of Islay's coastal microclimate imparts a saline, mineral edge that threads through even the deepest wood influence. Reduction uses water from the Octomore Farm spring, flowing through ancient Lewisian gneiss — the island's oldest rock formation — delivering a high-silica softness unique to this site. Distilled in the distillery's famously tall, narrow-necked spirit stills (6-metre column, 0.9m neck diameter), which maximise copper reflux and produce a clean, high-ester new make capable of absorbing complex cask regimes over long maturation. Bottled without chill-filtration and without caramel colouring — non-negotiable across every Bruichladdich expression. The special feature: Black Art is the only release where the cask composition — rumoured to include first-growth Bordeaux and rare fortified wine wood — is withheld entirely, making each numbered edition a one-time, unrepeatable configuration.
