Glenfiddich 15 Years Old with Hip Flask Gift Pack
฿5,399
When Glenfiddich's production team introduced a never-emptied Oregon pine Solera Vat in 1998 — borrowing the fractional-blending logic of Andalusian sherry bodegas — they created a structural anomaly in Speyside whisky: every bottle of the 15 Year Old carries a molecular trace of that original 1998 fill, a continuity no age-statement peer in the category replicates. The distillery sits at the base of the Conval Hills in Dufftown, Moray, drawing exclusively from the Robbie Dhu Spring, a mineral-rich highland source whose catchment the Grant family ring-fenced by purchasing the surrounding land. That soft, low-mineral water drives the house's characteristically light new make. Double pot-still distillation through small, swan-neck copper stills — wash stills of approximately 9,000 L and spirit stills of approximately 4,500 L — produces a delicate, high-ester spirit that absorbs oak influence readily. For the 15 Year Old, stocks aged a minimum of 15 years across three cask types — virgin American oak, ex-bourbon, and ex-Oloroso sherry — are married in the Solera Vat, which is never drawn below half-capacity, layering successive fills over the accumulated base. The virgin oak contributes spiced vanilla and toasted coconut that neither ex-bourbon nor sherry alone would deliver, distinguishing this expression sharply from the 12 Year Old's simpler two-cask marriage. Bottled at 40% ABV, chill-filtered, and reduced with Robbie Dhu spring water on-site at Dufftown.
