The Macallan A Night On Earth (700 ml)
฿7,489
The Macallan A Night On Earth is a limited, non-age-stated release from the Easter Elchies Estate — 485 acres of alluvial Speyside soil on the north-west slopes of the River Spey near Craigellachie, where on-site spring water feeds a 17-tonne lauter mash tun reportedly the largest in Scotland. Alluvial, fertile ground and a cool Moray microclimate support the estate's own barley programme, the grain mashed and fermented across 21 stainless-steel washbacks at approximately 55–60 hours before double distillation.
The production signature is the curiously small, squat spirit stills at just 3,900 litres — cast from death masks of the original historic stills by Forsyths of Rothes — which deliberately limit copper-vapour contact to yield a heavier, oilier new make built to absorb long sherry-cask maturation. Maturation draws on sherry-seasoned oak from The Macallan's vertically integrated cask programme: Spanish oak air-dried, coopered, and Oloroso-seasoned in Jerez for 18 months before filling, with the distillery controlling the process from forest to filled cask. Natural colour only — no E150a.
What distinguishes this expression within the Macallan portfolio is its gifting-tier presentation and NV blended character, designed as a sensory narrative rather than an age statement — a deliberate departure from the core range's year-anchored identity. Dried fig, dark chocolate, stem ginger, and warm baking spice emerge from the sherry-oak dominance that defines Easter Elchies.
