Dewar's White Label Blended Scotch Whisky (700 ml)
฿679
In 1846, John Dewar — born in the village of Dull, Perthshire — began blending whiskies in Perth, and the house he built would eventually pioneer the technique now standard across the Scotch industry: blending first, then returning the finished blend to oak casks for a further minimum six months before bottling. That Double Aging (marrying) process is the defining signature of every Dewar's expression, including White Label. The heart of the blend is Aberfeldy single malt, distilled on the eastern outskirts of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire using water drawn from the Pitilie Burn, a natural artesian spring that feeds into the River Tay — a soft, mineral-light source that underpins the house's characteristic heather-honey register. Aberfeldy's larch washbacks with extra-long fermentation and medium-height onion-shaped copper pot stills develop that honeyed new-make character before primary maturation in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Supporting malts from Craigellachie (Speyside, worm-tub condensed), Royal Brackla, Aultmore, and Macduff round the blend to up to 30 component whiskies, assembled by Master Blender Stephanie Macleod by nosing at the Glasgow facility. What no peer at this price point replicates is the mandatory post-blend rest period — a structural commitment that produces measurably greater integration than standard one-pass blending. Bottled at 40% ABV; a non-vintage expression with no applicable vintage character notes.
