Compass Box Great King Street Blended Scotch Whisky (500 ml)
฿4,799
When John Glaser founded Compass Box in 2000, he did so without a still — deliberately. The Great King Street expression distills that founding philosophy: a boutique blending house operating from Richmond, London, sourcing malt and grain casks from across Scotland and assembling them with the kind of parcel-level precision more common in Burgundy than in Scotch blending rooms.
Component whiskies are drawn from distilleries spanning Speyside, the Highlands, and the Lowlands, matured primarily in ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads and refill casks at source, before Compass Box applies its own cask selection and finishing protocols — including custom-made casks with heavily toasted French oak heads, a technique that brought the house into direct conflict with the Scotch Whisky Association in 2006.
The bottling is 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered, and carries no added colouring — parameters that preserve the texture and natural hue that most commercial blends sacrifice for shelf consistency. Where mass-market blends are engineered for uniformity, Great King Street is recipe-driven, with each component selected for flavour architecture rather than volume.
As a non-vintage blend, it carries no declared age statement, but the house's insistence on full-flavour bottling strength and natural colour sets it apart from virtually every blend at this price tier.
