Glenfiddich 21 Years Old (700 ml)
฿18,699
When William Grant's family chose to bottle and market single malt as a premium product in its own right — a radical act in 1963 when blended Scotch held near-total market dominance — they established a house philosophy of deliberate rule-breaking. The 21 Year Old Gran Reserva is the clearest expression of that instinct. Distilled at Dufftown on the River Fiddich, fed exclusively by the Robbie Dhu Spring — a mineral-rich highland source in the Conval Hills whose catchment the Grant family protected by acquiring over a thousand surrounding acres — the spirit spends its first two decades in ex-bourbon American white oak, the house's primary vessel, building the signature orchard-fruit and vanilla character shaped by Glenfiddich's distinctively small, swan-neck copper pot stills. The transgression arrives at year 21: a four-month finish in Caribbean rum casks, a finishing regime with no precedent in the core Speyside category, which layers dried tropical fruit, brown sugar, and warm spice over the bourbon-oak base without erasing it. Before bottling on-site at Dufftown — one of very few distilleries to complete the full process end-to-end — all spirit undergoes a mandatory marrying step in large oak tuns, integrating the rum-cask influence into the whole. The result is a Speyside single malt that reads as structurally orthodox yet arrives somewhere no peer does.
