Cooperativa Capel, founded in 1942 by Elqui Valley grape growers, built its identity around the Muscat-family varieties that Chilean pisco law mandates — a deliberate preservation of the aromatic grape heritage that defines the Denomination of Origin. Transparente means the spirit is bottled without wood aging, preserving the raw distillate character straight from the still.

The Elqui Valley sits within the Atacama Desert at elevations between roughly 1,000 and 2,000 metres, where near-zero rainfall, intense UV radiation, and dramatic diurnal temperature swings concentrate sugars and aromatic compounds in the Muscat grapes. Sandy, low-fertility soils stress the vines further, amplifying floral and citrus intensity in the base wine before distillation.

Capel Reservado is distilled in continuous column stills to a higher proof than pot-still expressions, then reduced to bottling strength — a process that yields a cleaner, lighter-bodied spirit compared to the brand's pot-still Especial tier. No oak contact is applied, leaving the Muscat florality unmediated by wood.

As an unaged transparent pisco at an accessible price point, this expression is the category's purest test of raw Muscat distillate — no barrel influence to mask or augment the fruit.
