Bruichladdich 30 Aged Years Old Whisky (700 ml)
฿108,999
The Bruichladdich 30 draws on spirit distilled during the Whyte & Mackay ownership era — the so-called 'resurrection legacy' stock laid down between 1989 and 1994, before the distillery's celebrated 2001 revival. That provenance matters: this is whisky made before the current team's radical terroir programme, barley-traceability obsession, or B Corp philosophy existed, yet it was shaped by the same physical infrastructure — the original 1881 cast-iron open rake-and-plough mash tun, six Douglas Fir wooden washbacks, and the unusually tall, narrow-necked (0.9m) spirit stills that maximise copper reflux and produce a characteristically clean, honeyed new make. Maturation is exclusively ex-Bourbon cask, conducted entirely on Islay in flat, brick-built dunnage warehouses where the Atlantic-maritime Gulf Stream climate — high humidity, minimal temperature swing — enforces a slow, gradual extraction over three decades. Reduction to 43% ABV uses water from the Octomore Farm spring, flowing through ancient Lewisian gneiss rock for a high-silica softness. No chill-filtration; no caramel colouring. What makes this expression categorically unusual: it is an unpeated Islay single malt aged 30 years — a combination the island's peat-forward reputation renders almost paradoxical — bottled at a restrained ABV that preserves the slow-built waxy, coastal complexity without oak dominance.
