The Glenturret Tripple Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700 ml)
฿2,769
When Lalique Group acquired Glenturret in 2019, they made one decisive cut: severing the distillery's decades-long role as backbone malt for The Famous Grouse to produce exclusively under its own name — a commercial gamble that forced every cask in the six dunnage warehouses to justify itself as single malt. The distillery sits in the sheltered 'Hosh' glen on the Turret Burn, roughly 2 miles northwest of Crieff, Perthshire, where the secluded high-sided valley historically drew illicit distillers precisely because it hid smoke. Process water arrives via a dedicated pipeline from Loch Turret in the Grampian Mountains, fed by Ben Chonzie runoff through granite-and-schist geology that strips mineral hardness — the resulting soft water is a direct contributor to the distillery's characteristically light, high-ester new make. Fermentation runs approximately 48 hours in traditional pine washbacks, and distillation passes through a 12,500-litre wash still and a 9,000-litre spirit still fitted with a reflux bowl for extended copper contact. The Triple Wood expression draws from three distinct cask types: American oak ex-bourbon barrels, American oak sherry-seasoned casks, and European oak sherry-seasoned casks — the European oak adding dried-fruit and spice registers that the American oak alone cannot deliver. What sets this apart from most Highland NAS releases is the deliberate restraint: the house style pursues tropical fruit and honey over the heavy sherry saturation common in the category.
