Romeo Y Julieta Short Churchills (Aluminum Tube)

When Sir Winston Churchill visited the Romeo y Julieta factory in Havana in 1946 and declared his preference for the 7×47 Julieta No. 2, he inadvertently gave every cigar brand on earth a new format name — a measure of how deeply this house has shaped the global vocabulary of the cigar world. The Short Churchills distils that same DNA into a shorter ring-gauge format, drawing exclusively on Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río tobacco: the region's red colorado clay soils, warm humid microclimate, and consistent trade winds yield leaves with an unusually precise balance of combustibility, aromatic intensity, and restrained strength. Shade-grown Criollo wrapper leaves deliver a finer-textured, oil-rich surface, while sun-grown Vuelta Abajo leaves form both filler and binder in an all-Cuban blend. Every cigar is constructed totalmente a mano, tripa larga — totally handmade with long-filler — by torcedores in Havana, with leaves having undergone bulk fermentation in pilones at 40–50°C to strip ammonia and build layered flavor before rolling. The cedar-lined aluminum tube is the special feature here: it actively humidifies the cigar in transit and storage while the cedar lining imparts a secondary aromatic conditioning unavailable in standard dress-box formats. The result is a medium-bodied smoke — citrus zest, roasted almond, dry cedar, and a trailing cocoa finish — that rewards both the initiated and the curious without demanding the time commitment of a full Churchill.
